My summer experience involved shadowing and volunteering at Bryn Mawr Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center, both of which are located outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I spent time in the Emergency Department at each hospital and in the operating rooms and pre- and post-operative units at Lankenau. I focused on pediatric medicine whenever possible, because it is an area that I am considering specializing in. I am grateful to have received summer funding from Career Services because it enabled me to solidify my interest in medicine and to foster connections with the medical professionals with whom I worked. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the hands-on experience I gained.
