SQL (Structured Query Language) is a highly demanded skillset across industries in this data-driven era. Having a proficient command of SQL enables employees to be at the forefront of data engineering, data science, business analysis and data analytics initiatives; therefore, it is a ‘must have’ skill for these data-centric career routes.  As we are in a digital age, acquiring SQL capabilities to become data self-sufficient is becoming ever more essential. The answers to most pressing business questions are buried in data warehouses, therefore having the ability to navigate a complex data ecosystem to query the ‘gems of information’ is an invaluable skillset for many organizations. Having completed our AESOP SQL Basics workshop or having prior SQL knowledge, students will continue their upskilling journey in this course experiencing the following:
Deeper review of JOIN types, UNION and the different impacts on data outputs. Blending multiple tables to expand dataset scope and analysis possibilities
Better understanding and working knowledge of conditional statements: AND, OR, IN to create custom queries based on more complex business needs
Building and understanding conditional layers within queries, e.g. how to apply layered conditional statements to solve complex requests correctly
Building aliases and calculations within queries, e.g. creating key performance indicators (KPIs) within aggregated reports
Through a learn by doing format, AESOP students develop new techniques while solving real world challenges to better prepare them for on the job experiences.“Having SQL on my resume has been pointed out by 3 recruiters. “This continues to be the most underrated/practical course. It is extremely useful and always helps me and everyone I recommend to the course”Alfredo Ortiz, Mathematics , Aesop Academy Student“I actually just received a job offer on Friday, and I think one of the things that made me stand out was my knowledge of Excel and SQL. (from AESOP courses)”Nathan Stein, Economics, Aesop Academy Student“I thought the course was extremely helpful and I felt that I walked away with a lot of useful information about SQL. The session was more engaging than I expected, which was nice!Jack Schwanewede, Interdisciplinary Studies, Aesop Academy Student
