Company Description

Capture Management Solutions has been providing innovative marketing and association management services since 2009. With an expertise in serving associations, nonprofits, and government entities, the agency specializes in coalition building, communications, grassroots efforts, and marketing solutions. Focused on enabling organizations to achieve their missions, Capture Management Solutions operates as a strategic partner, helping clients leverage marketing and communications as a cornerstone for success. Based in Des Moines, IA, the agency is passionate about driving impactful results for state and national initiatives, as well as government programs.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Executive Director located in Des Moines, IA. The Executive Director will oversee the daily operations of the organization, manage strategic planning, and ensure the successful implementation of key initiatives. Responsibilities will include managing client relationships, leading cross-functional teams, developing marketing and communication strategies, supervising budgets, and fostering growth opportunities. Additionally, the Executive Director will build coalitions, drive advocacy efforts, and partner effectively with state and national organizations in the nonprofit and government sectors.

Qualifications

  • Holds the position of Executive Director (or similar title) for one or more CMS AMC client.
  • Develops, monitors, and manages client budgets in collaboration with the finance team, reviews client financial statements
  • Maintains the ongoing relationship with client and serves as the primary point of contact for questions and resolves problems encountered.
  • Guides the association board to set the strategic plan and goals for the association.
  • Provides direction to CMS marketing and events team to implement client initiatives in coordination with the CMS marketing team plan and participate in educational and professional seminars, membership meetings, conventions and trade shows.
  • Develop non-dues revenue opportunities to achieve client financial goals in collaboration with client, conduct sponsor/partner outreach to secure non-dues revenue.
  • Manage membership renewal process and new membership campaigns to achieve membership goals.
  • Prepare materials for board meetings, attend meetings, and provide executive and organizational updates.
  • Attend and participate in the association’s leadership/committees meetings.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to CMS staff working on assigned association clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for customer service.
  • Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications. (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
  • Ability to logically think through a series of processes and know how to prioritize them based on immediate needs. We service multiple clients and must be able to work on different projects at the same time.
  • Must be detail-oriented and be able to help proof marketing materials.
  • Knowledge of running events is preferred.
  • Knowledge of association management systems, databases or event management software is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-5 years experience is preferred
  • An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in the area of business, non-profit management, communications, public relations, marketing, or events are preferred, or 5 years of experience.
  • Transportation to and from work and events is required.
  • Position is considered hybrid. Working remotely is allowed, however in-person training and in-person client events are required as part of the position.

Compensation is between $60,000 – $75,000. This position is eligible for a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life, 401k retirement, paid time off, extended paid time off, and paid parking.
