Typical qualifications for a Senior Consultant

  • 3/4+ years of professional experience, including 1+ years within advisory services, preferred
  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Sensitivity to the political and cultural environments of international public agencies or similar complex environments
  • A passion for driving social impact and equity, typically evidenced by a strong interest in and/or prior exposure to global or local impact issues
  • Experience living and working in different communities
  • Demonstrated fluency with English speaking and writing skills

Note: Employment in all the Dalberg offices is conditional on the candidate having or obtaining the requisite authorization to live and work in that country.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AND HOW YOU WILL GROW

Senior Consultants are essential contributors to our organization, spearheading the delivery of inventive solutions and offering analytical excellence to our clients. They take the lead in research and analysis, molding the team’s understanding with both quantitative precision and insights gleaned from engaging stakeholders. As those who dive deep into the issues, Consultants and Senior Consultants think critically and creatively to develop insights based on their findings from the research process. They gain a broad knowledge base that cuts across sectors and geographies while driving the core of every project’s work.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Manager/Senior Project Manager and Project Directors with structuring problems, developing analysis, and developing recommendations
  • Lead research and complex analyses on key development-related topics
  • Develop and deliver structured communication to clients
  • Coach junior team members
  • Contribute to developing our partnership with clients and peer organizations
  • Actively contribute towards Dalberg’s firm-building initiatives

Senior Consultants are tasked with independently overseeing workstreams, cultivating relationships with clients, and providing leadership, and mentoring and managing junior team members, as needed.

Interview Process: Candidates selected will be invited to a one-way video interview, writing assignment, and three live interviews: a behavioral interview and two separate 45-minute case interviews, each conducted by a different interviewer.

You are expected to work near one of our offices and work 2-3 days/week in the office.
