Real Estate and Affordable Housing Law Firm is seeking a candidate to provide support staff activities similar to those performed by a paralegal. Candidate should possess a proactive work ethic, an active interest in law and be energized by the possibility of contributing within a team environment. Flexible remote work option available. The Law Firm’s primary office is in New York City.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist with preparing closing documents related to real estate acquisition and/or loan closings, supporting the attorney staff in coordinating closing logistics
- Assist in preparing simple sales agreements, leases and other commercial contracts
- Prepare corporate formation documents for business entities and not-for-profit corporations (including IRS 501(c)3 applications)
- Prepare applications for sales and property tax exemptions, and assembling electronic closing binders
- Assist with drafting, filing and service of all pleadings, discovery, motions, orders, and other litigation documents, prepare with assistance of an attorney all summons and complaints, filing summons and complaint and obtain service of process
- Maintain litigation case files and calendar, keep track of court and filing dates
This position is open immediately and full-time, with a hybrid remote work schedule. All necessary training is provided. Prior employees in the same position have eventually gone onto Law School for formal legal training, and such career progression is encouraged by the firm. However, it is requested that the new hire not proceed to Law School prior to Fall 2024.
Salary: $62,400.00
