WNEM has an immediate opening for a Creative Services Director. The successful Creative Services Director must be innovative, creative, and a leader ready to push the business of media marketing and management forward. Must have strong organizational, communication, and management skills, hands-on writing and producing skills as well as a strong understanding of topical news promotion to grow the market leader. Candidate will create promotional content to grow and retain audiences across all media distribution platforms. This candidate will have frequent interaction with other department leaders, Regional VP, and consultants and serves as the leader in developing and executing the station marketing plan to drive ratings growth.
Work closely with the News Director and news staff to develop and execute powerful image spots that reflect the direction of the station’s news brand. Market all station social media initiatives, working closely with news and digital teams to identify daily opportunities to reach the target audience. Oversee station public relations, station news releases, and community partnerships. Recruit and retain high-performing staff through effective management, training, and engagement activities.

▪️ 3+ years in advertising, marketing, or promotion with progressive managerial responsibilities.
▪️ BA/BS degree in Advertising, Marketing or Broadcasting preferred.
▪️ Must possess strong advertising, marketing, promotion, broadcast production, and budgeting skills.
▪️ Excellent leadership skills.
▪️ Strong problem-solving skills.
▪️ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
▪️ Must work well with General Manager, and all Department Heads to position the station brand and execute ideas.
▪️ Knowledge of and experience in social media marketing and promotion.
▪️ Strong knowledge of broadcast news promotion.
▪️ Ability to create and execute media plans and events.
▪️ Creative skills including editing, shooting, etc. are required.
▪️ Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
