SPARC Theater is hiring Teaching Artists for our summer theater camps for students in grades 3–8.
We are looking for enthusiastic, collaborative educators with experience in theater, education, or youth programs. A background in Shakespeare or performance is a plus, but not required.
About the Programs:
SPARC’s summer camps offer students the opportunity to explore Shakespeare’s language and stories through play, performance, and creativity. Whether they’re solving mysteries in a museum or diving into the world of Shakespeare’s comedies, campers develop acting skills, build confidence, and form lasting friendships- all in a supportive, ensemble-based environment. All experience levels are welcome.
Program 1: Shakespeare Adventure Club
Dates: July 7–18 (Monday–Friday)
Campers engage with Shakespeare’s characters and language through fun, interactive activities that encourage creativity, self-expression, and teamwork.
Program 2: Some Have Greatness
Dates: July 21 – August 1 (Monday–Friday)
Young actors rehearse and perform original short plays, culminating in a showcase performance on the final day.
Camp Details (for both programs):
Elementary Session (3rd–5th grade): 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Middle School Session (6th–8th grade): 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: SPARC Studio, 2172 Railroad Avenue, Livermore, CA
Teaching Artists will co-teach each session with another instructor
Artists may be assigned to one or both programs depending on availability and fit
Pay is $35–$40/hour depending on experience
Supplies are provided by SPARC Theater, some loose curriculum is provided but artists are able to customize their camps’ games, exercises, etc.
