Operations Consultant – Streamliners Management Consulting

Location
Pretty Much Anywhere within the United States (Weekly travel to client sites expected)

About Streamliners

Streamliners Management Consulting is a boutique operations consultancy focused on delivering measurable performance improvement for industrial and private-equity-backed businesses. We work hands-on with clients across manufacturing, supply chain, and enterprise operations to unlock capacity, improve productivity, and drive sustainable EBITDA impact.

We are hiring Associate Consultants to join our growing global team. This role offers early responsibility, deep operational exposure, and the opportunity to make a visible, measurable impact from your first project.

What the Job Entails

  • Own discrete workstreams within client engagements, supported by experienced Consultants and Principals
  • Analyze and improve operational performance across capacity, throughput, labor, waste reduction, lead time, and service levels
  • Support process mapping, bottleneck analysis, cycle time analysis, and productivity improvement initiatives
  • Conduct operational due diligence in support of M&A activity
  • Support and help implement business-wide transformations such as network optimization and operating model redesign
  • Build and maintain analytical models and dashboards in Excel to support fact-based decision making
  • Work directly with client teams on site to implement improvements, not just recommend them
  • Prepare clear, structured client deliverables and support working sessions with senior management
  • Act as a day-to-day interface between the Streamliners project team and client stakeholders

What You Need to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a strong STEM background with a technical focus
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving mindset with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Comfort working with data and building clear, logical analyses
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage effectively with both shop-floor teams and senior management
  • Self-directed, highly organized, and comfortable taking ownership of your work
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel during the working week

Nice to Have

  • Internship, coursework, or project experience in manufacturing, operations, or consulting
  • Exposure to Lean, process improvement, capacity analysis, or ERP systems
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, including structured storytelling for executive audiences

What We Bring To The Table

  • Early responsibility and meaningful client impact from week one
  • An unparalleled introduction to the private equity environment and value creation agenda
  • A steep learning curve through exposure to complex, real-world operational challenges
  • Close mentorship, structured feedback, and continuous on-the-job development
  • Competitive starting compensation with strong progression based on performance
  • International project exposure across North America, LATAM, and Europe
  • A merit-based culture

Compensation: $135,000+ annually

Travel Required: +80%
