Consulting College Prep Timeline

  • First-Year
    • Meet with a career counselor to begin exploring options. Make an appointment via Handshake.
    • Create a resume. Begin filling out your LinkedIn profile with contents from your resume.
    • Fill out your Handshake profile to ensure you’re receiving emails about relevant employer events and opportunities.
    • Take a mix of qualitative and quantitative classes.
    • Summer internship strongly recommended.
  • Sophomores
    • Apply to exploratory programs. Some focus on diversity and inclusion programs for underclassmen and students of underrepresented backgrounds.
    • Get involved in extracurricular activities & research opportunities.
    • Start preparing sophomore spring for summer and early fall deadlines junior year.
    • Practice MANY case interviews. 
  • Juniors
    • Establish contacts at firms you are interested in.
    • Practice MANY case interviews. 
    • Apply early – deadlines can be in summer before junior year
  • Seniors
    • Prepare and Apply early – Summer before Senior year.
