Today, while many professional services firms claim to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, not that many can back up their words with concrete actions. Indeed, it takes more than merely including a DEI statement on a website to prove that fostering individuality, recruiting a diverse workforce, and committing to promoting all employees is a priority.

Recently, we caught up with a few professionals from top consulting and accounting firms that are doing just that​—going above and beyond when it comes to recruiting, retaining, and promoting a diverse pool of talent​, and maintaining an inclusive work environment.​ Below, you’ll hear from professionals at the consulting firm LeapPoint and the accounting firm WilkinGuttenplan about what the​ir​ firms are doing to support initiatives that empower women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other underrepresented groups.


In the following video, you’ll hear from LeapPoint’s Director of Marketing, Megan Cacioppo, and the firm’s Senior Program Manager, Erin Kennedy. Both women speak about the extremely diverse workforce at this leading consulting firm, which is made up of professionals of various backgrounds, cultures, geographies, ages, and experiences. Lauren also speaks about the firm’s flexible workplace policies and its initiative to recruit beyond its geographic reach, which allows the firm to retain the best possible candidates. In addition, Lauren touches on the various events that the firm’s DEI committee has hosted on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, during Black History Month, and during Women’s History Month.
