Understanding Work Authorizations

Navigating professional opportunities, including on-campus employment, summer internships and research opportunities, and postgraduate jobs can be challenging and complex. International students should regularly check in with the advisors in the International Student Center to ensure compliance with student visa regulations.

Identifying Opportunities

Career Services offers several resources to support international students. Our job and internship board, Handshake, allows students to filter by work authorization. In addition, we provide access to Goinglobal, which has a searchable database of H1B employers, as well as CareerShift, which allows users to filter for H1B eligible positions.

Marketing Yourself

International students possess many highly in-demand skill sets including language skills, adaptability, and cultural competencies. Meet with a member of our team to learn more how to best articulate your unique experiences for professional opportunities or graduate programs.
