Claire Klieger

Dr. Claire Klieger relates particularly well to students who are unsure of what they want to be when they grow up because that is how she felt as an undergraduate double majoring in English and Anthropology at the University of Virginia. As a career professional she’s focused on highlighting the value and versatility of a liberal arts education, and enjoys working with students on identifying their transferable skills. Before joining the Swarthmore community, Claire spent over 15 years in Career Services at the University of Pennsylvania and has also done international development consulting work in Morocco. Claire has a doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania, and spent her formative years living and learning abroad in the Middle East and North Africa.
Erin Massey
Director, Employer Connections & Assessment
Erin has been working in Career Services at Swarthmore since June 2003. In addition to meeting one on one with students as they explore their professional identities, one of Erin’s primary responsibilities is employer development through building new partnerships and strengthening current employer relationships. Erin works to coordinate recruiting initiatives, both on and off campus, for employers who are interested in connecting with Swarthmore students. Erin also manages various programs in an effort to provide students with guidance and knowledge around diverse career topics. She continues to be amazed and inspired by the students she has the privilege to work with every day. Outside of work, Erin enjoys life with her amazing husband (and high-school sweetheart) and 3 adorable boys! She loves spending time with her family, Philly sports and relaxing at the shore whenever possible.
Kristie Beucler
Associate Director, Career Education
Kristie (she/her) enjoys helping Swarthmore students and alumni to develop career goals, consider options and reach their fullest potential. She meets individually with students of all majors and talks with groups of students and alumni. She is instrumental in facilitating alumni mentoring of students, often in conjunction with the Alumni Council. Joining the Swarthmore Career Services staff in 2010, after 8 years working in Career Services, was a smart career move for her! She earned a Master of Science in Counseling, Higher Education from West Chester University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Gettysburg College.
Jennifer Barrington
Associate Director, Career Education
Jen (she/her) believes in the strong link between personal identity and career fulfillment. She hold a B.A. in East Asian Studies and Business Management from Gettysburg College and a M.Ed. in College Counseling from University of Delaware. Joining the college in 1999, she has been rewarded by working with the fabulous students and colleagues at Swarthmore. Jen enjoys the balance between career counseling and career exploration program planning her job allows. She enjoys educating students about their career options and sees her job as being an educator for career development. Managing experiential learning programs such as SwatWorks micro internships, she finds it very rewarding to hear about the many successful experiences students gain. Jen is passionate helping students develop through experiential learning continuing their career education.
Pattie Kim-Keefer
Associate Director, Assessments & Technology
Pattie earned her BA from Haverford College and her M.S.Ed in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania. She is most interested in helping liberal arts students develop and explore career interests as they relate to their studies, extra-curricular experiences, and personal interests. In her free time, she loves to cook and spend time with her friends and family.
Kelly Dougherty
Assistant Director, Employer Relations
With a BA in Communication Studies and an MS in Higher Education Counseling from West Chester University, Kelly is dedicated to helping students in their journey of self-exploration and preparing for life beyond Swarthmore. Kelly’s primary responsibilities include career counseling and employer relations. In addition to career counseling, she also has a research background in Healthy Communication and Conflict Management.
Lisa Maginnis
Administrative Coordinator
Lisa has had the pleasure of welcoming students into the Career Center for 2 decades. From those who come with little to no idea where their path may lead to those who are driven and motivated by a specific goal or opportunity, it is always satisfying to watch them develop into young professionals. Outside of the office you will find Lisa spending time with her grandchildren, crafting or boating and fishing in Long Beach Island NJ.
Andres Perez Correa '22
Marketing & Engagement Coordinator

Andrés ’22 joins the team recently graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art. Aside from their fine art pursuits, he has a strong interest in visual design and the influence visual campaigns can have on targeted audiences. He has previously designed for the Swarthmore’s Center to Innovation and Leadership, Pennsylvania Education Scholars, and a freelancing platform startup, Clutch. They are excited to hone in their design and communication skills to ensure our resources are known and helpful to students across campus.
