Oakley hails from the foothills of the Appalachian mountains in Virginia. He is always extremely happy and friendly, even when he is panic stricken by thunder or some other loud noise that his humans can’t even hear. He takes advantage of essential oils to calm his nerves, in addition to lots of petting and lap-sitting. Oakley enjoys meeting new people, (and dogs, cats, deer, foxes, etc.) He would be happy to greet you if you see him on campus, and he might show you his upcycled wardrobe. In his free time he enjoys running, chasing rabbits, watching birds and going on walks in the Crum Woods. His human is very proud of his first place medal for best tail wagger at Bark in the Park, a fundraiser for the Providence Animal Center.

Hi, I’m Shackamaxon, but you can call me Shack for short. I’m another one of those pups who think that 2020 was an amazing year. I mean if it weren’t for quarantine my Dad and I might never have found each other at the SPCA. But thank goodness we did because now we just love spending time together. We love taking long walks around Fishtown, making lots of friends and getting to know all of our neighbors. But my very favorite place to go is the Dog Park. That’s where I really get to show off my speed and agility. It took us a few visits to get it right, but I’ve finally trained Dad to understand that here, at the park he can take off that leash. I would never hurt anyone, no bad-guys stand a chance at catching me, and I’ll come right back and lay by his feet just as soon as I’ve had a minute to run off some of my energy. #BestBuddies
