Introducing SwatLink

For years, we have heard from students eager to connect with alumni who have shared interests or experiences, but often aren’t sure where to look or how to start. Or, they worry that the person they want to reach out to may not want to be contacted. “Do you have a database of alumni mentors?” is a question our team encounters a lot. It’s been a long time in the making…and only made possible through a strong partnership with Alumni Relations and pivotal support from the Inclusive Excellence and the Lang Center, but we are thrilled to announce that we finally do!

Trust us, it’s been worth the wait, because it’s so much better (and more) than just a database.

What makes SwatLink different?

Unlike LinkedIn, there is no need to request to connect with anyone, because everyone on SwatLink is there because they are actively seeking further connections across the Swarthmore community. No more wondering about what kinds of advice or help alumni might be willing to offer or wishing you had “premium” access so you could message anyone. SwatLink takes the guesswork out of mentoring and networking with its unique features:

  • Suggested alumni mentoring matches based upon commonalities
  • Filters to search for alumni based upon “help topics” they specialize in including choosing a career path, gap year experiences, identity in the workplace, work/life balance and more
  • Editable outreach templates for alumni introductions
  • Calendar-syncing to easily identify shared availability for conversations
  • Data and information on career paths including required skills and salary ranges

So, go on….find your people! . Check out SwatLink to see how personalized Swattie connections around a variety of topics make a difference.
