HEALTHCARE CONSULTING ANALYST ROLE DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Asymmetry Group is a small yet rapidly growing strategy consulting firm – included for the third year in a row on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the US and named an Inc. Best Workplaces 2025 firm – that helps the world’s leading biotechnology, digital health, and medical device companies commercialize innovative therapeutics and technologies. Our clients range from early-stage Series A companies to $100B+ market cap biopharmaceutical companies. We are proud that all of the clients we serve have requested follow-on work. We cannot achieve this without an amazing team.

Asymmetry was acquired in October 2025 by the Danforth Health family of companies that collectively serve biopharmaceutical clients from inception through commercialization of products via a broad set of capabilities and offerings.

We’re seeking a full-time Consulting Analyst to support current and future client work as well as internal initiatives to continue developing our firm. Depending on the day, week, or month, you might be helping manage the launch of a new rare disease product, developing a commercial plan to support a breakthrough Phase 3 asset, or engaging with the leadership team of a digital health company on how to differentiate their offer in the market. We’re looking for a highly motivated, proactive doer who is passionate about healthcare. There will be some travel – but it’s generally limited and much of our work is local to Boston or conducted remotely.

What Can We Offer You?

Meaningful Work: We deliver high-quality, pragmatic work to the most innovative healthcare companies out there – we choose to work with clients that we truly believe have the potential to bring real advances to healthcare and avoid projects that are misaligned with our passion for ethical change

Strong Team & Culture: We foster a small, collegial organization that takes the best characteristics of consulting to create a supportive culture – we work hard and ensure our team members can integrate work & life in the way that matters most to them (e.g., hybrid work policy). Our incredible team is the backbone of what we do, and we are committed to creating a culture that supports them (and you!)

Growth & Development: We strive to individualize team member development. All team members have different strengths and skill sets; we tailor career progression based on your specific interests and needs, and we recognize and promote on true merit rather than anchor to fixed time periods

Strong Compensation: We offer industry-competitive salary and bonus, 401k, healthcare / dental / vision and a flexible time-off policy

Role Duties & Responsibilities:

Our day-to-day can involve a wide breadth of activities, roles & responsibilities can be fluid, and success will require a willingness and agility to learn quickly. The role will naturally evolve based on firm and client needs. However, the following are representative areas of responsibility where the Consulting Analyst will play a key role:

Supporting strategic client engagements including: secondary research, data analytics and Excel modeling, PowerPoint document creation and storytelling, etc.

Supporting project management activities on behalf of clients: cross-functional launch support, milestone tracking, dashboard & report development, strategic workstream support, etc.

Initiating self-learning in areas where technical capabilities require more development; proactively communicating and staying in close coordination with team members

Supporting internal initiatives, including thought leadership/article development, onboarding new members of the firm, planning internal lunch & learns, etc.

Essential Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline – business, economics, biology, etc.

Passion for both innovation & commercialization in the life sciences field

Deep intellectual curiosity (constantly ask “why” – and then go figure it out)

Comfort brainstorming, implementing, and iterating solutions for loosely structured problems

Flexible and adaptable team player willing to play many different roles and embraces change

Self-starter mentality, willing to identify and take on new opportunities and challenges

Experienced building presentation-ready slides in PowerPoint & developing analytical models with Excel

Strong oral & written communication skills

If you don’t check all the boxes but think you have what it takes, let us know, and tell us why!

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates local to the Boston area (we utilize a hybrid work model based out of our office in Newton, MA with clients in Boston, Metrowest, across the US and overseas)

Internship experience with a consulting firm (preferably a global firm or life science-focused boutique) or a biopharma company is a strong plus

Able to travel for client meetings in the greater Boston area, occasionally outside of the Boston area, and work in a hybrid environment from both the office in Newton and home

Compensation: The base salary for the Analyst role begins at $82,000. This role is also eligible for Asymmetry’s incentive compensation program, as well as Asymmetry’s benefit plans including medical, dental and vision coverage in addition to other benefits and retirement programs.

Application Instructions: Please apply via Handshake by September 25th with a resume and a cover letter describing how this position aligns with your professional goals.
