Associate (Strategy Consulting Entry-Level Role)

Role Details

As an Associate, you will be an integral, contributing member of a project team from your first day at Fairgrove, working across a range of industries. Your role will involve undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess market dynamics, understand company performance and help answer important strategic questions for our clients.

On-the-job learning is combined with an engaging training programme delivered by senior team members, designed to build a broad consulting toolkit. We actively invest in your career development through continued training, regular feedback, mentoring and early responsibility.

Skills & Experience Useful for this Opportunity

If you enjoy problem solving, are curious about businesses, have a proactive attitude and would enjoy working in a dynamic, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for candidates with the potential to develop strong consulting skills across areas including:

  • Qualitative and primary research – gathering and synthesising information from sources such as market and customer interviews and surveys
  • Quantitative and secondary research – sourcing and interpreting data, analysing datasets and financial information, and drawing clear conclusions from evidence
  • Excel and PowerPoint – producing accurate, efficient and well-presented analysis and slides
  • Problem solving and commercial thinking – breaking down complex questions, identifying the key issues and understanding what the evidence means for a client
  • Communication and teamwork – communicating clearly, working effectively with colleagues and contributing positively to project teams
  • Organisation and time management – managing priorities and producing high-quality work to deadlines
  • Proactivity and intellectual curiosity – taking ownership of work, asking good questions and being willing to seek guidance when needed
  • Attention to detail – producing accurate work and maintaining high standards

We do not expect graduates to have developed all of these skills before joining Fairgrove. Our consultants have graduated in a broad range of subjects, so we welcome applications from undergraduates and postgraduates in any discipline. We will consider both recent graduates and candidates with previous work experience.

Please note that Fairgrove is unfortunately unable to provide sponsorship for Skilled Worker or Graduate visas. As such, we can only accept applications from candidates who already have the right to work in the UK.

Remuneration

£45,000 starting salary + sign-on bonus + annual performance bonus + benefits

We also provide the following as standard:

  • 23 days’ starting holiday, plus bank holidays, with additional days earned through tenure and promotions and the option to purchase additional holiday through our salary sacrifice scheme
  • Hybrid working across home and our Central London office
  • Early responsibility, rapid career progression and a transparent performance review process
  • A dedicated buddy and mentor to provide professional and pastoral support
  • Regular team-building events, including company offsites, as well as one sponsored volunteering day
  • Carbon offsetting through our company ecology scheme

Start Date

September 2027

Application Procedure

Applicants should submit their application through our recruitment portal using the link below. We also encourage candidates to upload a short covering letter.

Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Stratton HR is Fairgrove’s external HR partner and manages our recruitment portal on our behalf. As a result, some recruitment communications or portal pages may display Stratton HR branding. The recruitment process itself remains managed by Fairgrove.

Applications will be closing in mid-November 2026. If you have any questions, please contact recruitment@fairgrovepartners.com.
